“Two men have been arrested for alleged homosexuality. They appeared before Lefkosa (Nicosia) District Court on Thursday and were each given a one-day remand. Ali Kut and Hasan Kabidan were arrested following a complaint to the police by residents. Speaking in court, Mr. Kut, who lives at Demir Pansiyon in old Lefkosa said “I am a bachelor.It is a slander.” Cyprus Today, 23 July 2011
